Blazer Honours
The University of Waikato Blazer Honours annual event celebrates the achievements of long serving members of associated sports clubs.
Blazers are presented for the reaching of a milestone that a select few have achieved for their respective sports clubs - either competing in 100 games or providing 10 years’ service.
Background
The University of Waikato Sports Clubs are a fine University tradition, and in 2017 a new honour - the Blazers - was introduced to acknowledge the key role the sports clubs play in creating the memorable experiences for our students. This tradition of Blazer Honours pays tribute to the commitment and dedication that players, administrators and alumni give to their sports club. Recipients are awarded a distinctive blazer (or shirt) as acknowledgement of this honour.
